Family Matters coverFamily Matters was my 2015 NaNoWriMo novel. Police Detective Boone Strange has been falsely accused of harassment and assault by a sleazy lawyer named Walt Sims. Fortunately, he has a friend who helps him take care of it.

“You’re well within your rights to, son. I’m sorry I didn’t believe you, Boone. You’ve been a good officer. I apologize.”

“No apology needed, sir. You took the word of your friend. I’d do the same.”

“You’re far too kind,” Susan said, glaring at Sims once more. “I’ll let it go this time, Walt. But you mark my words, you even take too long a breath, I’ll be on you like wet paint on a park bench.”
